Curvatura - Strings for Dance

Emotive, playful, commanding,
sensuous, are some of the words that come to mind when describing the music of
Curvatura, Strings for Dance.
Curvatura has 16 eclectic, yet harmonious tracks
ranging in length from 1:06 to 1:43 with most in the range of 1:15 to 1:25
minutes:seconds. The running times are highly suited for short choreographic
projects and/or solo practical assessment. In addition a theme or narrative can
be choreographed over any number of tracks, in any sequence, for an end of term
project or a performance.
All of the tracks are instrumental and are played by the
string section of an orchestra; violin, viola, cello, double bass. The
structures of the compositions allow for a wide stylistic range of dance and
cater for the choreographic elements of relationships, space, shape and
dynamics.
Curvatura suits solo or group
creative choreography with dance styles ranging from classical to contemporary.
The CD is engineered for theatre and provides a stereo,
high fidelity and dynamic sound, which engages both the dancers and the
audience.
