This is the genuine Shiro-Nuri white makeup base
for face, neck and other areas used by Maiko, Geisha and Kabuki actors.
The paste powder is mixed with water to form a paste. A little of the mixed paste goes a long way.
It is painted onto the prepared skin*
using a specifically designed Japanese brush -
Hake B2;
Hake B4;
Hake B6. Excess water is removed using a sponge pad. The paste is
traditionally finished using
Face Powder.
Use for Kabuki, Noh, Butoh, Maiko and Junior
Geisha white foundation.
*It is essential to use
Abura
to
act as a base or "key" for the paste first. Otherwise the paste will not apply
correctly.
